Maiko Kurata is an ERYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and lead faculty member in Semperviva’s Yoga Teacher Trainings and retreats in Canada, Japan and Greece.
She has been practicing yoga for fifteen years and teaching for ten. Her yoga journey began when she met her mentors, Gloria Latham and Cameron Gilley. Maiko completed her 500 Hour Teacher Training with Semperviva, studying Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga. She has studied with many of Semperviva’s most loved Master Teachers including Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Seane Corn, Max Strom, and Mark Whitwell.
Maiko is inspired by how yoga brings happiness into her student’s lives and gives them a sense of freedom to create a life they love.
You can find Maiko in Tokyo for most of the year leading amazing community events such as Morning Glory and Yoga Dance Parties.
She also co-teaches with Gloria Latham at Yokohama’s YogaFest, Japan’s biggest yoga event.
