Free Members Workshop: Yin and Yang with Ayse Camci and Lorena Tatomir

Join Ayse and Lorena for an afternoon of alchemical movement and mindful practice, as they elegantly weave together two different styles of yoga through similar mysterious shapes.   Start the afternoon off igniting the warmth and energy of flow, followed by a release into the quiet surrender of slow, deep practice.

 In Yang practices like Vinyasa, muscular engagement requires heat and movement to strengthen and release, whereas in the practice of Yin, ligaments and tissues require long steady holds – to just be still and allow the breath to take over. Although seemingly so different, Yin and Yang are the perfect compliment to balance the heart, body and mind. The “yin” is always in the “yang” and the “yang” is always in the “yin”!

 The practice is open to all levels and there will be lots of modifications to help you play with your own sweet edge.

Ayse Camci

What teaching yoga means to Ayse is helping students find freedom within the guidance of the practice. She believes that the more you open your heart, the more fearlessly you live your life!
Ayse began training with Chris Chavez in her home country of Turkey and keeps her advanced studies with Semperviva School of Yoga. She had the opportunity to study with Bernie Clark, Clara Roberts Oss, Gloria Latham, Janet Stone, Max Strom, Nicki Doane, Sarah Cutfield, Sianna Sherman.

Ayse brings her passion for the practice alive in her classes through accessible alignment-focused postures with long and meditative holds.  You will leave class feeling uplifted and encouraged!

 

Lorena Tatomir

Lorena’s curiosity of ancient traditions led her to India where she studied traditional Sivananda Hatha whilst exploring the mythology and philosophy of yoga through direct experience. Since, she has studied in Vancouver, Hawaii and Indonesia to deepen her practice in Vinyasa and Pranayama. Her classes are infused with an emphasis on breath, proper alignment and offer a dynamic combination of physical postures to coax the mind, cleanse the spirit and fuel the heart. You will come out feeling integral, balanced and purposeful.
