Vital Life, Better Sleep: Stress Management

Friday, November 29th, 7:30pm-9:30pm at Kits Beach Studio

This evening workshop deals directly with the modern plague of sleeplessness and stress.

In America, the Center for Disease Control has declared sleep disorder an epidemic, and this is happening in industrial cities across the world.  This workshop will help you re-think your priorities and give you knowledge to take home with you to help you sleep and live more at ease. This workshop begins with a lecture, and then moves into a gentle restorative sequence of postures and gentle movement that immediately trigger deep relaxation. Simple, powerful accessible. Max will give you knowledge to take home with you to help you live more at ease with improved sleep. Bring writing materials.

Learn to Breathe, to Heal Yourself and Your Relationships

Saturday, November 30th, 12:30pm-2:30pm at City Studio

How does the way we breathe affect our stress level, anxiety, quality of sleep, and even our relationships? Breath penetrates, breath invigorates, and breath heals. The effect of Max’s breath work can lead to profound release and calm. Other benefits may include increased energy and mental clarity. This works so quickly and effectively that Max has successfully brought his unique breathing program into the corporate world.  Class will include a lecture, simple but high impact breathing exercises; very gentle breath-initiated movement, and guided meditation.

Strength, Grace, and Healing

Saturday, November 30th, 3:00pm-5:00pm at City Studio

The intent of yoga is not only to increase our strength and flexibility, but also to promote health and vitality. The next layer is to transform our behavior from coarse to gracious, and to transform even our very thoughts, from chaos to beauty.  Experience Max Strom’s unique yoga practice, called, Inner Axis, with emphasis on emotional transformation. Class will include a short talk, inner axis yoga, non-dogmatic philosophy, breathing, and meditation.

Opening the body – and finding your Emotions

Sunday, December 1st, 12:30pm-2:30pm at City Studio

This movement workshop begins very gently and then builds momentum. At the apex we move directly into a special sequence of postures that opens the internal body that induces an emotional sense of release, brings the mind into stillness, and the body into a new state of energy.  This class is both challenging and very healing.

The Yoga of Nonviolent Relationships

Sunday, December 1st, 3:00pm-5:00pm at City Studio

How do you want to be remembered? Do people trust you? Respect you? How do you treat others when you don’t need anything from them? We discuss ethics every day as we complain about people’s behavior with driving, money, politics, comments on blogs, and especially romantic relationships. But we often do not look at our own actions and impact on others.  Notice that we have two sets of ethics: One set we practice when calm and happy; and another when we feel afraid, angry, or exhausted.  The work is to have one set of ethics to protect those we love from our anger.

The seminar will give you knowledge to take home and to work with you to help you live a more vital and peaceful life. Class includes lecture and writing. Profound, funny, and very timely! Bring writing materials.

For 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teachers, the credits of the course can be applied towards the 500 hour certification, and is eligible for CEUs with Yoga Alliance. Continuing Education Units are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher.
