Hatha Yoga Classes Vancouver

Semperviva’s Hatha yoga classes are open to all levels. Hatha yoga will strengthen,  stretch, tone and relax your entire body. Whether you are trying to get in shape, cope with tension from the office or relieve the tightness in your body from sports, Semperviva’s Hatha yoga class can benefit you. Hatha yoga is the classical form of yoga postures and breathing that revitalizes the body physically and mentally. It is an uplifting practice that increases muscle tone, improves flexibility and concentration, detoxifies the vital organs and allows you to relax deeply.

Modifications are always given for more challenging postures, and we encourage you to slow down and rest any time you need to.

The Hatha poses you will learn are the same as many of the postures that you will experience in Vinyasa Power Flow (Power Yoga) and Ashtanga classes. The difference is that the pace is slower allowing you to work more on the alignment or the form of each pose. Each class is balanced to give you a full body workout, while focusing on the breath. You will leave feeling refreshed and renewed.

The term Hatha does not imply an easy class. The level of the class will depend on the teacher and the needs of the students. You can always make classes easier or more challenging for yourself by following the teachers’ cues for variations and modifications of the poses.
