Yoga Made For Runners is a system of dynamic yoga postures and core breathing created specifically to meet the needs of runners. The Yoga Made For Runners practice consists of deep, focused breathing, upper-body strengthening and core stabilizing exercises, and deep, slow, stretching. As well, information on running anatomy, the biomechanics of injury and injury prevention, and the dynamic warm-up are woven into the workshop presentation. Taken together, each of these elements contributes to the creation of strong, resilient bodies able to withstand the rigors of any running program.
This two-day, four and a half hour workshop will include two yoga practices, one dynamic and one mellow, a discussion of running injuries, running anatomy and the biomechanics of running, and a discussion on minimalist running.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is perfect for all runners, regardless of experience or ability. Anyone with an open mind and an adventurous spirit is welcome, no prior yoga experience necessary. For some this will be their first yoga experience, but fear not, the class instruction will be clear and easy to follow, and the practice will be sensible and simple, but challenging.
