Bring a pose to class that you having been wanting to learn how to do better, and Crista will workshop the poses with you. Learn how to warm up and open the body appropriately for challenging poses, and how to safely teach peak poses to your students. Whether you are a teacher interested in incorporating peak poses into your classes, or you just want to enhance your own personal practice, be prepared to learn and have fun!

About Crista Shillington

Crista loves yoga! She loves the peace and happiness that it brings her, and loves helping others to similarly discover the healing and empowering effects of yoga. She has found that yoga addresses all aspects of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and that acceptance and confidence on the mat reflect into daily life.

Crista holds a B.A. in Psychology, and has taken additional training in counselling and social work. Crista is a member of Semperviva Yoga’s Teacher Training faculty and is certified with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 500 and E-RYT 200. She has completed Teacher Trainings in Thailand and India, including Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, Mysore, and Vinyasa Teacher Training in Vancouver. She has also completed silent meditation retreats (Vipassana, Zen, and Open Dharma), and yogic breathing (pranayama) Intensives in the Himalayas of India. She has completed workshops with Shiva Rea, Janet Stone, David Swenson, Seane Corn, Martin Kirk, Sadie Nardini, Maria Garre, and other Senior Teachers. She teaches Power Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Ashtanga, Meditation, and Pranayama.

She loves to see students learn, sweat, de-stress, and have fun! She encourages students to be playful and open. Her classes are always creative, working toward peak poses, and including a Bhav or theme in practice. She feels that yoga should be a balance between challenging oneself to grow and learn, and gentle compassion in respecting ne’s daily limits. She believes that every person has the ability to discover the wisdom and compassion of their own inner teacher. Come and play!
