A Restorative Yoga Workshop for Anxiety and Stress Relief
Anxious or Stressed?
You are not alone. Over 70% of first visits to medical physicians are for stress-related symptoms. Anxiety and stress symptoms vary from person to person but can include: stomach aches, headaches, irritability, insomnia, muscle tension, fatigue, nausea, low self-esteem, a feeling of fear and apprehension, and depression.
Yoga Can Help
Thanks to its holistic body-mind approach, yoga helps to manage and heal the root cause of anxiety and stress, not just the symptoms. Freedom from anxiety and stress means a healthier body, a peaceful mind, and enjoyment of life.
What You’ll Learn
Where you hold stress in your body and mind, how to release it, how to create and maintain a calm inner peace, and how to cultivate true joy and inner happiness.
How It Works
You will learn tools and practices which can be done at home, at work and in daily activities, to release stress and anxiety while cultivating a peaceful mind: yoga postures, breathing practices, cleansing techniques, meditation, and laughter!
About Tianne Banerd
Tianne came to yoga after a long career as a high performance athlete. She brought her passion and commitment as a dedicated athlete to her yoga practice, coming to the mat daily for power yoga practices. Her love of yoga grew and Tianne began teaching. One night, while out for an evening stroll with her dog, Tianne was hit by a car. Her yoga practice changed dramatically. Instead of power yoga flows, it became a practice of healing for body, mind and spirit, of finding peace within the trauma. The experience has been transformative.
Tianne now shares what she has learnt on her path of healing through teaching restorative yoga. The practice of restorative yoga, like all yoga styles, aims to cultivate emotional calm, mental clarity and inner peace, all within a healthy, vital body. The difference with restorative Yoga is that we slow it all down to deeply connect with our experience. Within this deep connection we learn how to breathe, move and quiet the mind to stimulate healing; restore, rebuild and rejuvenate the body. In gratitude to the healing practice and to the compassionate guidance of her teachers, Tianne is honoured to share her knowledge and experience through classes, workshops and teacher training.
Tianne is a registered yoga therapist, (International Association of Yoga Therapists), registered yoga teacher and teacher trainer, (RYT500, E-RYT200, Yoga Alliance).
