Colin teaches from a place of love, gratitude and compassion. He reminds us that living our 'now-life' is about being present in this moment and that dwelling in the past or speculating on the future doesn't serve anyone.
Colin found yoga having figured out that there was more to life than chasing the proverbial tail. Having founded a high tech computer company and working day and night to build it into a large corporation, he realized that another car, another holiday and another grey hair was not serving anyone. Back in the day before this, Colin spent 5 years working in rural African hospitals. It was here that he was most happy, being of service and giving.
A few years into his yoga path, Colin was diagnosed with a large spinal nerve tumour that no doubt came from years of self imposed stress. He had almost no feeling in his legs and was in severe pain. Colin was faced with daunting prospects based on many doctor's predictions of autonomic function loss with or without surgery.
Colin knew there had to be another way. He crawled (literally) back onto his yoga mat and began a series of kriya, meditation and asana.
It took many months, as the MRI scans showed the tumour shrinking until it was gone.
Colin brings unique shrada (faith) to his classes. Everything is as it should be and by breathing freely, without resistance, we can fully trust the process of life.
Classes cater to all levels and are joyously active, empowering and filled with conscious breath.
Colin is a certified R-PYT (pre-natal), RYT500 and E-RYT200 yoga teacher.
