How did you come to yoga?
The first time I tried yoga, I didn’t like it! It took me a couple years to come back to it and find a teacher who inspired me and where I didn’t feel bad for being so unflexible! Then I got hooked on the happy yoga-glow, and how healthy I felt! The flexibility came much later… ☺
How has yoga affected/changed your day-to-day life?
Yoga unquestionably makes me a better person. Practicing regularly helps me to be kinder, more patient, and to have more compassion.
Why do you love teaching Vinyasa Power Flow?
The flow and faster pace of Vinyasa allows us to open and warm the body appropriately in order to approach the more challenging poses. I love seeing students develop their practices over time and witness them successfully doing things they never thought they would be able to do.
You currently part of Semperviva’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training faculty. What do you uniquely offer to teacher trainees?
Being a part of the YTT faculty has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I love sharing yoga with people who are passionate about it and who have taken time out of their busy lives to dedicate themselves to the practice. I love seeing new understanding emerge, confidence developing, and people’s happiness increasing as they understand more about the purpose of life and their place in it.
What are your favourite tunes to practice to at the moment?
I love this question! Music is a huge part of my classes, in creating moods and themes.
