What I love about yoga:
Yoga helps me to get out of my head and into my heart, where the real magic happens. Through yoga, I have met some of the most wonderful people in my life, and for that, I am forever grateful:)
I teach yoga because:
I teach yoga because it gives me a chance to be inspired by all of the love and dedication that the students bring to the class, whether they are aware of it or not, and to work with that love, that energy, to help us all get more in tune with our hearts, hopefully tapping into some sweet bliss. Teaching yoga helps me to be more compassionate, and honestly, helps me tap into my own truth.
I’m inspired by:
I am inspired by nature and by sound, by random acts of kindness done without expectations, by synchronicities and by the mind-blowing phenomenon that show me there is far more to this world than meets the eye.
My favorite music to do yoga by:
This is a tough one. I love music, my earliest memories are musical, and I always seem to have my own internal soundtrack playing in my mind as I move through life. I tend to use the same music in my classes, some geared for chill classes (drones and minimal sounds, El Hadra and Shamanic Dream), with a mix of more upbeat stuff for the more intense powerful flowing classes(some tunes I have no idea who the artist is). When I flow by myself I love FUNK music!! Earth, Wind and Fire and the Brothers Johnson are my favourites by far, but I have yet to use them in class…we will see what the future holds:)
Beautiful places I love to visit:
Honestly, haven’t done much traveling in my life (physically anyways, have gone to far off places in dreams though:), but one of the most amazing places I have ever been was Cathedral Lakes, which is close to Kerameos in BC. I do love this city of Vancouver though, as you don’t have to go far to sit under an amazing tree or find some rushing water to sit next to.
What I like to do in my spare time:
I spend most of my spare time exploring sound and music, both creating and listening, and I love rocking out with like minded musicians. One of the most amazing tools for healing and for breaking down the walls we sometimes surround ourselves with. When I feel low, I play and sing, and that reconnects me to my heart.
My favourite quote:
“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” Albert Einstein
I could quote more from him, as I have always had a strong interest in his work and his paradigms. Maybe it’s because we have the same birthday, although he was born 93 years earlier.
Peace and gratitude!!
