From Barbora Libanska
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the email from Semperviva congratulating me on winning the first prize in the 40 Day Yoga Challenge. What a great completion of those amazing 40 days!
I am grateful to my housemate and friend Gen for drawing me into this adventure. At the outset, was an absolute beginner. I had been thinking about doing some yoga since I moved to Vancouver last November but could never really find the time and motivation to get started. Then Gen moved into our house at the beginning of May and invited me to join her in the Challenge. Her enthusiasm and excitement were contagious. This was the impulse I had been waiting for. What better opportunity to get fully immersed in yoga there could be? I love
The kick-off class gave me a rough idea of what to expect, convincing me that Hatha and Yin Yoga would be the best styles to start with. After learning some basics, I ventured into Kundalini and Power Vinyasa classes as well, of which I definitely got to prefer the former. Vinyasa Yoga is still quite challenging for me, even though after the 40 days I feel I’m ready for more of it!
And my overall evaluation of the experience? Pure joy of exploring new territories of my body and soul. A bit of a challenge to sometimes find the time for yoga when I was busy. Friendly and helpful yoga instructors, a supportive atmosphere, a flow of energy and love…
The great variety of yoga classes and teachers never made my practice into a boring routine, but kept it an exciting journey of discovery and learning something new every day. My body is stronger and more flexible, my mind more focused and sharp, my heart open and uplifted. I might not go to yoga every day now – perhaps just five times a week – but the healthy habit has definitely been
I look forward to every class. Actually, I should finish right here to get ready for my Kundalini class!
Thank you to everybody at Semperviva Yoga for this wonderful opportunity!
