Liberated by yoga
I had the today off. I lounged around the house for a bit, tidied up and did some laundry, then brought out my yoga mat, but decided to call my friend Sara to confirm plans for later that afternoon. Well, “later” turned into picking me up in 15 minutes, heading to the beach for the day, followed by a group BBQ. I decided my mat would have to come with me if I was going to practice at all.
We set up our towels and I set out my mat to begin. I have never practiced in front of others who weren’t also practicing, so I felt a little awkward to start with. Usually I excuse myself from the room and go off to where I will not be watched. However, after a few minutes I forgot about where I was and just enjoyed my yoga practice. Letting go of all of my self-conscious paranoia, even enlisting Sara to take a few photos for me to post. As I have said before, outdoor yoga is fantastic, and this was no exception, even if I may have had a few onlookers.
Liberated by yoga, and forgetting to be embarrassed. Namaste,
Rowan
