A Long Distance 40 Day Yoga Challenge – Day 29

From Rowan Pantel, Saskatchewan

Your body knows what is good and bad. It’s just a matter of listening

I took up the Semperviva 40 day yoga challenge in an effort to drop bad habits and become a more balanced and healthy person. The activity part is going well, I feel that mentally I am in a better place now than I have been
in a long time. As I was practicing today, I realized we are almost at the finish line (just 11 days left!). I thought about what else I could do to help my body along. I think I eat fairly healthy, maybe too much at times but healthy non-the-less, so why not cut out alcohol. Here it goes, a mini cleanse. I am on day 2, so I am going to make it an even 2 weeks, ending just after the challenge.

I always find it interesting how your body asks you for things while on the 40 day yoga challenge. You just have to pay attention to what it is saying, and not reject what it wants. The last yoga challenge I participated in, I cut out coffee, simply because my body started rejecting it (coffee suddenly made me feel sick after a few sips). By the time the challenge had ended I had gone from drinking 7 to 10 cups a week, to just 1!

Nearing the finish line, here’s to living stronger and healthier than until 29 days ago. Namaste,
Rowan
